Kerala Backwater and Beach Tour
Duration : 8 Days / 7 Nights
Day 01 : Arrival in Cochin : Today on your arrival you will be welcome by our representative after introduction of your driver you will transferred to hotel. On arrival check in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. In the evening you can watch the Kerala traditional Kathakali Dance Show (optional). Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 02 : Cochin / Kumarakom : Morning had your breakfast you can proceed for Fort Cochin sightseeing visit St. Francis' Church, built in the year 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan Friars & known to be the oldest European church in India. It was restored in the year 1779 by the protestant Dutch, converted to an Anglican Church by the British in 1795.
Vasco da Gama's remains were buried here in 1524 & later moved to Lisbon, Portugal, then visit Dutch Palace, originally built by the Portuguese. Later in 17th century they modified it & presented it to the Raja (King) of Kochi (Cochin). The Palace has a fine collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from Hindu epics, Mahabharata & Ramayana, and then visit Chinese fishing nets, (Cheenavala) are distinctly unique to Cochin.
It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here. After sightseeing continue drive to Kumarakom, upon arrival check in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
Day 03 : Kumarakom : Today early morning you can visit the famous Birds sanctuary in Kumarakom, you have the opportunity to see various species of birds lives in this sanctuary, later return to hotel take your breakfast and rest of the day is free for your own activities, If you have optional to take Ayurveda massages from the hotel (on your own). Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
Day 04 : Kumarakom / Alleppey : Morning had your breakfast you proceed to Alleppey, the most popular backwater destination in Kerala, up on arrival board the houseboat locally called Kettuvallam, and cruise around beautiful Vembanad lake, This lake offers an enchanting experience to the tourists.
The lake is the best picnic spot, where you can relax your mind and body. While the water gives the place a cooling effect, trees and shrubs act as a respite to the parched eyes. During the journey you can see ancient temples, churches, paddy fields and watch the day to day activities of the local people who live nearby.
Your crew members will serve delicious Kerala food on board and will take good care of you. Evening around 5:30PM , the houseboat will be anchored at a safe village area and during the night time there will not be any cruise. Overnight stay at Houseboat
Day 05 – Alleppey / Marari : Morning done your breakfast you can proceed for Marari, which is one of famous beach destination in Kerala. Up on arrival check in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Marari.
Day 06 – Marari : Today day at leisure you can spend your time by relaxing at the beach and stay overnight in Hotel.
Day 07 – Marari : Today day at leisure you can spend your time by relaxing at the beach and stay overnight in Hotel.
Day 08 – Marari / Cochin Departure : Morning done your breakfast and check from the hotel you can proceed to Cochin airport to board your onward destination flight with full of sweet memories.
