The dense forest of Kawal tiger reserve sprawls across an area of 778.17 sq m. This tiger reserve is well known for verdant teak forests. The river Kadam flows through this sanctuary, making the land surrounded by very fertile and green.

Kawal wild life sanctuary is a safe have for millons of flora and fauna. The forest area is covered with trees like dry deciduous teak woods, bamboos, Terminalia, pterocarpus, anogeisus, cassias and lots more trees.

Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Sloth Bear, Barking Deer, Indian Bison, Panther and Tiger are some of the animal species that are spotted here. If we are lucky we can see any of these animals at our hands distance. Reptiles such as Crocodile, Monitor Lizard, Python, Star Tortoise and Cobra, are also found at a large number in Kawal wildlife sanctuary.

For the benefit of the public sanctuary offers services like jeep safaris, and bird watching trips for tourists with a one day sojourn, and spotting rare animals in the wild habitat. Tourists can also engage in Trekking in the hilly sides of the forest.

Kawal wild life sanctuary can be visited any time of the month. Best seasons to visit this lovely forest area would be the months of June to September.

Travel : This Kawal tiger reserve is located near the district of Alidabad.

Air : The nearest airport to Adilabad is at Hyderabad (322 km). From there one needs to hire a cab or take a bus to reach Adilabad.

Train : Adilabad has its own railway station and is well connected to the major cities in Indian.
