Kaup Beach - Karnataka
One of the scenic beaches to visit in India for the pleasant drive amidst palm trees. More than the destination, the journey toward it is what makes the whole experience memorable.
The clandestine diary of Karnataka is incomplete without this page - Kaup Beach. It is less crowded and so tranquillity sets the atmosphere for a relaxed sunset watch.
The golden hue spreads all over and enriches the beauty of the beach.
The beach hosts an old lighthouse and is 100 feet in height while Udupi is a must-visit spiritual center just 16 km away.
The cerulean landscapes with the hint of orange shade give an enthralling sight to remember for a lifetime.
The 100 feet lighthouse was built in 1901 and it is open from 5.30 am to 6.30 am
The spiral staircase of the lighthouse becomes steeper during the ascend toward the top of the lighthouse.
The name “Kapus” is after the tribes that had served as sentinels for the surrounding land.
Maharani Roshni was the queen of the Kapus Tribe.
The tribal people dance for the Jingalala song every evening.
It was once a Jain Kshetra with a lot of Jain Monasteries.
