Trekking In Dudhsagar Falls
With a height of 603 meters, the Dudhsagar waterfalls is the second highest in India and the most impressive one in Goa. It is situated near the Bhagwan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary. During the post monsoon season, the waterfalls cascades with a beautiful gush of milky water. As Dudhsagar is Konkani for ‘Sea of Milk’. Trekking in this waterfall is much more fun than others since the trekking path comes with an old railway track. The milk white water cascading atop the mountain amidst lush greenery of the mountain makes for a wonderful sight.
The only trekking route which is allowed now is the Kulem – Dudhsagar route. Along the trek you will come across lush green hills covered with forest. The trek trail is almost always flat with a few patches that goes uphill. As you reach the base of the Dudhsagar waterfalls, you can have the time of your life swimming in the pool that is formed below the waterfall. The trail that runs along the railway track gives the trek a different vision. The view of the surroundings till you reach the waterfalls is enthralling.
Best time to visit: When the monsoon is over and the water in the falls is seen in abundance during the months of October to May makes the perfect time to trek through the trail.
